Too many pinwheels!

Well I think I have had my full fill of pinwheels this week to last me a lifetime! Just Jude's prairie points and pinwheels quilt class starts tonight so I've been busy trying to test the pattern for two different sizes: a cot quilt and a single bed sized quilt. I only have the quilt tops finished because they needed to be ready to display in class tonight...
Above is the cot sized quilt in boyish reds and blues.

Apologies for the bad photo...it was quite breezy outside so this was the best I could get.
As you can see this quilt is a lot bigger than the blue and red quilt. It has 30 blocks! 30 BLOCKS! The first one only had 12! I'm so flippin' glad to have finished haha...I do love the result though! The bright colours with the denim are just so me...unfortunately I don't think I can sneak another quilt away with me to uni ;(

Thank-you brooches

So yesterday I got a fab surprise from two lovely ladies who go to Just Jude's sewing classes. As a thank you for carrying their machines down to the basement (where classes are held) each week they gave me some lovely goodies for uni!
There's a weekly organizer, flask, storage box and a gorgeous handmade card! To say thank you I wanted to make them something so decided on some brooches!
One of the ladies loves browns and the other often wears blues so it was quite easy working out what colours to use..
The buttons are fabric covered buttons that I made myself...Just Jude will be doing a post on them soon and where you can buy the little kits!
I absolutely love the shape and size of these brooches and am now imagining them in some bright Amy Butler fabrics...mmmm...maybe one day haha!

Sailing Ships

Today in between other projects I decided to make a couple of Bee Blessed blocks just for funzies.
This adorable little ship block is the bee block for this term and it was actually surprisingly easy to make! If you would like to make one and donate it to Bee Blessed you can find the tutorial here.
You can pretty much make them how you please as long as the background is plain white and the sea is blue...If you want a little more info you can head to over to Just Jude's blog!
